StashBusters Hop

It's time for round five of StashBusters!  This time we are tackling SPARKLE! I rather like this layout - I'd go as far as to say it is one of my favourites from this year.  I thought I may have preferred it on a white background for a while, but I think the black accentuates the sparkle. This will be my last hop with the Stash Busters group, but they will still be hopping on the last Saturday of each month. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year!

This month's StashBusters video hop focuses on rubber stamping in scrapbooking.  Not my forte I have to admit!!  I have plenty of stamps but I hardly ever pull them out to use. For this layout I pulled out a couple of roller stamps - different types but I think they are both called roller stamps.  One is like a wheel that you roll over the page, the other you turn the handle to reveal different sentiments. I pulled out some Shimmerz paints too and stamped and flicked until my heart was content! The rest of the supplies are from October and November's like for ever kit. I've also used all the elements from like for ever's Sunday challenge - a stamp, four patterned papers, a label, die cuts, and enamel shapes. Here's the video with links to the other girls videos in the description. Thanks for stopping by!

Stashbusters - Alphas

Hello and welcome to the second Stashbusters YouTube Hop! (Well, the corresponding blog post...)  Just a bunch of YouTubers scrapping on a theme, for fun, and to give you ideas and inspiration. This month we are tackling left over alphas...  When I have a sheet of alphas that looks like this I run them through wordsolver.net  which gives me options on available words... I'll use squawking on a layout about Herbert Budgie later, but for now HOLIDAY and H O C are in my sights! I've also made up a couple of cheat sheets for alphas... With a little imagination and a pair of scissors it's amazing what can be turned in to what!  Obviously it changes slightly with different fonts, and these are not the only options, but it's a great resource to refer to to kick start that lateral thinking mode. In my case I had H O and C left over.  I decided to snip these up and use the curves as scalloped edging and the straights as confetti. I ...

Stash Busters - Punches - Post

I am delighted to bring you the first ever Stash Busters video hop!  There are a few scrapping YouTubers who have got together to bring you ideas for busting your craft stash.  The first item to bust was punches... well, I was in a little bit of a pickle because I don't own any!  You see, the only way I could justify buying my beloved Silhouette Cameo was that I didn't have punches and dies and manual machines. With my Cameo I cut a lot of background files and I always keep all of the cut-outs... I have quite a stash!  So it was these that I decided to bust. I added some sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and you can use the code Laura15 to receive a discount. I love the dimension and shimmer of all the layers of hearts.  I think I may well be using this technique again.  I have used up quite a few hearts - perhaps I'll try using the chevron/arrows next! You can find a list of my fellow Stash Busters' videos in the details of my vid...
