Laura Rumble - Crafter

So, I was a bit grumpy about this!  I had a double page spread in my dictionary free.  On one side was Jack Snipe and the other Kingfisher.  There were two suitable words that fitted with my self imposed nature theme - Jay and Jonquil.  BUT the Craft Barn requested that the J page include a dragonfly... well, that didn't fit at all.  I wrestled for a while and came up with a dragonfly on a jonquil leaf even though this would never happen as they are not around at the same time... And it turned out OK, I think.  I used my Inktense and Coloursoft from Derwent. I was happy with this chap.  I was reminded by research just how awesome the colours in dragonflies and damselflies are. And then the jonquil.  I'm less happy with this part, but after about 14 layers I realised it was the best it was going to be.  I've always struggled with daffs - I need to work in another sketching session! This dinky little bottle holds some good luck charms for 2015... It was part of  Secret Santa I took part in.  All the charms were collated from my stash with some added glitter. Now I'm not actually a believer of 'luck.'  I'm more of a God girl than a luck lady!  But I still think this is a seriously cute little trinket to display on a knick knack shelf. I think I might be dreaming of spring and summer... I thought this up over the weekend - I was fiddling with some ribbon and accidentally made some wings!  I thought it would be rude not to try and make a body to go with, so after a few attempts... I made a dragonfly! I tried all sorts of beads of different shapes and sizes and I think this was the best fit. I then added it to a ring base.  It took three attempts to get it attached satisfactorily - I still think I might try it differently next time.      I love his bug-eyes that stick out the side of his head!
