Skull and Cross Buns | 10th Birthday

Skull and Cross Buns have just turned 10 years old.  (Awesome giveaway here if you are interested.) To celebrate I pulled out my oldest SACB stamps.  These two bunting stamps are 8 1/2 years old.  I bought the small one first and then commissioned the bigger one.  The small one was a little bit too small to use on layouts...  I stamped out my bunting with a few shades of Distress Oxide inks and fussy cut them out.  I love my big Fiskars for fussy cutting.  The handles are comfortable and there is lots of blade to use. I added a little packaging technique on the background and some sparkly enamel dots to hide the joins of the bunting pieces. Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Please

As I find things that I don't want too throw away, but aren't good for layouts, I stick them in my art journal.  Things like packaging, used washi tape, 'off' rub ons, stickers etc. As I make anything with paste, paint or ink I add the left overs on top of those layers in my art journal. Then when I feel the need to get something out I pull out my journal and find a started page that matches how I am feeling. I had a few scraps on my desk as always.  One of them was the branding strip from Pretty Little Studio's collaboration with Pretty Please.  Another was a stamped cherry from Suse Fish's Felicity Jane kit.  Well, pretty please with a cherry on top suits how I am feeling right now! Lots of kinda confused layers... And big splotchy ink blotches, with a few sequins sprinkled on for good measure. Thanks for stopping by

Al Fresco

Last months Like For Ever kit is still going strong... It included this pack of acetate triangles and I had a real struggle getting them to work.  Eventually I went all out on one layout - 'it's a waste to use them all in one go' said half of me.  'It'll be a waste if you don't use any of them!' tutted the other half of me. I wasn't sure of attaching them with no glue showing was possible by any means other than sewing.  What adhesive do you use for clear products? I've had a bit of a fail on the wood veneer front.  This is only the second piece from the kit that I have used... If they were all like this maybe I'd be having better luck using them up!! Thanks for stopping by!

Animals: Just SO You

It is new challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  The theme is Animals so I have scrapped a page of Naughty Bun after her bath! I am on mission use-up-the-gold-rub-ons-before-they-go-off, so I added a camera and a generous sprinkling of hearts.  I made a little rosette with a couple of buttons and ribbon tails. The rabbit shape and the rabbit card are packaging from a graze box.  I knew as soon as I saw it I had to use it somehow! This is made using sheer Swiss dots and buttons from Crafty Ribbons.  I'd love for you to join us here with an animal project using ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!
