magnet clips

Before Christmas I was playing around with some tabs by Heidi Swapp and some magnetic tape... Rather than use the tabs with their own adhesive as a permanent addition to a page, I added magnetic tape.  This means they can be used as temporary clips.  I especially like the headings on these tabs for this use... who doesn't need a clip to keep their 'things to do' lists together? Thanks for stopping by!

Snoopy!

Hi Guys!  Today I am sharing this little bookmark... It is really simple to make.  Take one length of ribbon mine is rounghly 10cm.  Turn the raw edges under so there is no fraying.  Add two pieces of magnetic tape, one at each end on the reverse side of the ribbon.  That's it! The ribbon folds over a page in your book, or in this case my planner, and you have your page marked. I've used Snoopy ribbon which you can find here!

Bright Eyes

You know those magnets you get with the witty or sentimental sayings in them?  I had a couple spare.  I'd got all I was going to get out of them so I put them in the charity pile.  Then I thought, well hang on, I can reuse them instead.  The 'lid' pops out and there is just a square of paper inside.  I did some experimenting with gelli printing on the perspex 'lid'.  I used the paper square as a template and cut a piece of silver mirri to have behind the neon print.  (Note to Self:  Next experiment with printing straight on to mirri... surely that would be a cool effect too...) On the front I added 'bright' in Amy Tan stickers and had some neon crocheted lace made by my pet crocheter (er, not sure what my Mum will make of that new nickname!) which was the perfect embellishment. Entering at avenue 613 (not using the optional twist... had enough of winter and needed something brighter!!) I love it, it is ridiculously bright  :...

Advent - Day 12

Woot!! Woot!!  Day 12 of the advent celebrations happening at Crafty Ribbons Inspirations :) You know those square magnets that come with witty sayings in them?  Well I had a couple that I've had for ages and was a bit bored of.  Rather than put them in the charity bag I took them apart and re-filled them with some ribbon. For this one I used some wide Christmas ribbon inside the magnet, just trimmed down to size.  On the front of the magnet I added a snowman tag and a few paper snowflakes. A happy refurbed magnet :)
