StickerKitten on HOCHANDA

Sarah from StickerKitten is on HOCHANDA today with a whole bunch of beautful products.  Here are a few of the samples I made: A mini canvas and notebook with Bee Garden  and a treasure bag using Mermaid Treasures ...

Personalised Notebook

I like to take part in swaps occasionally. When I do I like to give my swap partner personalised gifts. I transformed this plain notebook with a monogram and my Derwent Graphik paint pens.  The pens stay on virtually all surfaces so it is an easy and permanent way to give plain things a bit of pizazz.

Ribbon Weaving

You know when you love the outcome but loathe the process?  Yep, that's me and ribbon weaving!! This is a blank note book from The Craft Barn covered with satin ribbon in two widths, woven together.  I love the effect the two widths of ribbon give. I used Dresdon Blue for my narrow ribbon and jam pots for my wider ribbon, of course from Crafty Ribbons . I finished off the inside with a sheet of paper.  It not only helps to keep the ends of the ribbon stuck down but also neatens it all up. I didn't enjoy the weaving part, as I mentioned earlier, but weirdly I think I am hooked!  I will need to do a bit more weaving... it'll be coming soon!

Button Book

Sifting through my draft posts I found this little gem... Crafty Ribbons launched a load of new colours in their button range and I set to work making a very colourful notebook. This is what I started with.  It is a very thick sturdy board front - it needs to be thick as I will be adding a fair bit of weight.  It was rather orange too so I added a few coats of gesso to neutralise it. From then on it was just playing with buttons!  I lined up different sizes to minimise the gaps and suck them down with pin flair glue gel.  A glue gun would also work a treat but as I've said before - I can't be trusted with a glue gun! It's quite important to have the edges as flush as possible so the buttons don't get caught and ping off.  Having said that, I made it a few years ago and all the buttons are still in place. Anything goes as far as a pattern - I went rainbow but you could do an initial, a heart, a star, sports team colours... You can find...

Butterfly Notes

You know me and my notebooks... well here's another! I've used a Finnabair butterfly stencil and pearlised medium to add some butterflies to a blank kraft note book.  Then to finish it off I've added a strip of the Butterfly Nature Ribbon with super sticky tape. This ribbon is really easy to use 'as is' and doesn't need much else to show it off.  The paint is iridescent and looks different colours from different angles. I've already started writing in the book - a list of things that are half done and need to be finished! Best get on as the list is rather long!! :) Entering at Country View's Stencil It challenge .

A Handy Note Book

Here is a little notebook I ribbon-ified.  It was featured on Ali's Hello Wednesday series over at Crafty Ribbons but I've just found this post in my drafts - I forgot to share it here!  The note book was a blank from the Craft Barn.   I added a ribbon page marker by taping some 3mm up the spine of the notebook.   I did a little bit of ribbon weaving on a rectangle of card securing the ribbons at the back with tape.   I then attached the rectangle to the front et voilà! I used: metallic edge 3mm cotton ribbon satin ribbon velvet saddlestitch ric rac and I had a tonne of fun! Thanks for stopping by today - and if you take the time to leave a comment, thank you a tonne, they brighten my day :)

Note Book

I altered this little notebook for Crafty Ribbons Inspirations .  It's only 75mm by 105mm so perfect for handbags or pockets.  I don't know about you, I'm always writing little things down so I don't forget them.  I thought the new vintage ribbons sentiment made the perfect front cover!  I've layered it over some gold ribbon from a ribbon pack.   And on the back I've used a few strips of the script ribbon . A couple of close ups... Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Birds

Well, a slight gap between posts... life, eh?  Just gets in the way sometimes!  Lots has happened, lots of sleeping has taken place, lots of missing doing things has happened.  However it's not all bad - I must remember this! I do have a project for the new challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenges - little note book, to share with you today.  It started out like this: a freebie from the Daffodil Appeal.  Hate getting mail shots from charities.  I know they don't do it for this reason, but it always makes me feel really guilty.  I thought if I changed the cover it would be better... LOVE his bird paper.  The old me would have bought two or three sheets and then hoarded it, afraid to cut it up and nt nowing how to do it justice.  The new me cut it up!! And added a little pocket inside.  I'm going to use the note book for lists of birds I see and invariably I pick things up too.  Maybe a feather or leaf. I added s...

Ribbon Note Book

Here is a happy ribbon-y note book I made...     I used the brighter colours of the Candy Saddle Stitch , some 3mm grosgrain and some alphabet buttons  to decorate the front of a blank note book.    My edges weren't clean enough for my liking so I added a scalloped glitter edge to neaten it all up. Bound with 3mm's and a star button to finish it off.  I had such fun making this but got soo frustrated when I had to stop to let everything dry before I could carry on again!!  Such an impatient crafter!! Entering in to challenges4everybody - anything goes Crafters Cafe Blog - Friendship I gave the notebook to Bev as a gift of friendship Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes Thanks for stopping by, TTFN!
