Skull And Cross Buns week!

I love this penguin stamp !  I had no idea where I was going with this creation - I just started stamping penguins... I've used Versafine in black and the Altenew Cool Grey ink collection to do my stamping.  I also embossed a few white penguins on different shades of grey cardstock and fussy cut them out.  Where images overlapped I used post-it note masks. I snugged in a photo huddled amongst the penguins.  The title is added with foam alphas. I've added a few snowdrifts and clouds in a palest blue chalk pencil.  They show much better in real life than they do in the photos. There'll be no SACB post tomorrow as I have a StickerKitten projec scheduled but the stamping goodness will continue on Tuesday...

Penguins

I know it's only just Autumn but if you aim to make all your Christmas cards you really need to have started by now... there, that's my justification for sharing snowy cards in September! I bought this adorable penguin stamp from Skull and Cross Buns last year.  It's a 'proper' rubber stamp - wood mounted and good rubber.  That is my favourite kind of stamp.  I know clear stamps are easier to store and easier to use and there are so many more techniques that can be done with them... but for me, there's nothing like the feeling and finish of a good rubber stamp! I've used a selection of Distress Oxide inks for the stamping and ink blending on the card base.  I then fished out some puffy paint from a Glittery Hands Box - I forget which month's box - and added some snow. I haven't added any sentiments.  I may do before sending them but sometimes it's nice to have Christmas cards that aren't too cheery... I feel awkward sending a...

Shaky Penguin!

I have the most adorable stamp from Skull and Cross Buns .  It's a diddy little penguin.  I wanted to make him sparkle... I stamped him out and fussy cut around him.  I cut his tummy out so I could fill it with sequins. I filled the rest of the shaker card with another mix of sequins, from SpiegelMom Scraps of course. This is possibly my most favourite card of all the cards I have ever made!

Christmas In July

Hello!  It is challenge day over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  The theme is one that will probably make a few of you shiver - Christmas!  But it never too early to start making for Christmas, especially if you are a card maker! I have made a few tree decorations.  These are two penguin buttons sewn back to back, with a piece of bling edge 3mm in between.  Cute!  These will be adorning my tree this year... but not for a while yet! Thanks for stopping by!

Penguin Mini Stocking

A fairly simple make for my DT piece for Crafty Ribbons this week...  The theme is Christmas Stockings with Ribbon picked by our lovely Christelle . I cut two simple sock shapes from green felt and blanket stitched them together with red.  I added the trio of penguins from the Festive Combos range. Aren't the penguin buttons the cutest?  I am thinking of dressing my Christmas tree with them! Come and join us over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges !

Penguin Pals

It is challenge time at Crafty Ribbons Challenges - the theme is Penguin Pals, picked by me!  I love Bubbles the Penguin.  I even painted him on my nails... For my challenge project I have simply strung up a wire heart filled with baubles.  It is hanging on my craft cupboard door.  I like to think Bubbles is protecting my stash!! You can check out all things penguin here and then join us in our challenge !!

My Little Penguin

Aww!  My little nephew came to see us dressed in a penguin babygrow - he looked just the sweetest little thing!  Of course, this needed scrapping... I really wanted to use the 'reasons why today was awesome' card so my original idea of black, white and yellow switched to grey, white and yellow.  The black was probably a little too harsh for a baby layout anyway.  I wrapped my background card with some white fibre tissue adhering it at the back.  I coloured up some seam binding and papermania alphas to get the right shade of egg yolk yellow (surely that should be penguin yellow, no?!) I added in all the penguin-y things from my stash which included a paper clip and penguin ribbon. I'm so pleased with how this turned out - it really makes me smile!
