Fox | You'll Only Use It Once

As each of my nephs have arrived I have made them a 'name frame shaker box'.  I'm clearly not very good at naming things but those four words cover exactly what I'm trying to get across!  This little pickle has foxes on his buggy and so I went with the theme of foxes.  I bought a fox die on clearance from Seven Hills Crafts.  It's not new by any means, it's from W Plus 9's February 2016 release!  As I said, it was on clearance (and I was feeling the pressure to make this the best project ever) so I thought even if I only use it for this, and maybe a card for his first birthday, that'll be enough.   I mixed up a shaker sequin mix to match my foxy colour scheme.  Some of the stars are glow in the dark which will add a bit of a fun touch after the lights have been turned out.   I think it went down quite well.  And just as I was going to stash the dies away for next year the perfect opportunity to use them again popped up.  We needed...

Scrapbooking | Stamping

I pulled out an old stamp set from W Plus 9 and had myself a little stampfest! I used ink cubes from Pinkfresh Studio - I LOVE these inks!  It is the first time I have had proper inks for stamping and I'm mad at myself for not buying some sooner.  Don't get me wrong, my Distress Oxides are still loved but they are for inking and technique based creating rather than just for stamping. I heat embossed a title using another old W Plus 9 set and some Wow! embossing powder. I cut the layout on a slant and pieced it back together leaving a sliver of colour showing and embellished with some clear sequins. One of the things I struggle with in the crafty world is the volume of new stamp sets released and the feeling of needing to keep up and use new supplies.  These two stamp sets are dated 2014 and still feel relevant and usable. Ten Minutes | Card Making

Yesterday the lovely Lisa from Lollipop Box Club challenged us to spend 10 minutes creating.  As it happens I had a bit more than ten minutes to spare but I created whilst being aware of the time.  Two 10 minute sessions and a further 5 or 6 gave me this card... The first ten minutes was spent whizzing back and forth on my sewing machine.  The a couple of minutes stamping with two old W plus 9 sets followed by ten minutes fussy cutting.  Finally three or four minutes sticking it all together. This morning I added a few sequins and photographed it, which probably took longer than I spent in total yesterday!  I think the lessons learnt are create freely and mindfully, don't faff with sequin placement and the photography has to happen so just go with it! I love this kind of sewing.  It's pretty much the only kind of sewing that I can floor the pedal! I was using this weeks Colour Throwdown prompt which is fabulously springy greens with bl...
