Photo Op

I have another super simple scrapbook layout for Pretty My Page to share today.   It’s not that I’m skimping on my design team duties... it’s just that these background cut files keep doing all the work for me! I’m working with the camera mesh cut file which I have cut on navy blue cardstock.   I’ve premade my background spraying some Minc reactive mist on to a white 12x12.   I left this overnight to dry and then ran it through my Minc foiling machine with some mint green foil. I used a little glue to add the cameras to the background but to add extra texture (and be extra safe) I ran a line of wide zig-zag stitching through the middle of each camera using a white thread.   I added the photo and my title using chipboard thickers.   I had to do a little alpha surgery – did you know two F’s can make an H?   It’s worth looking at your sheet of half-used alphas with a curious eye.   Most letters can be adapted in some way t...

Dream Big | Love Me Granny | Teddy's Travels

Another trio of recent layouts... I've had my Minc out and been playing with the reactive mist.  It's not a fine mist, it rather squirts out, but the effect when it is foiled is amazing. I'm trying to make a dent in my puffy stickers.  I bought several packs of hearts and stars and really haven't used them to their best.  I still struggle putting lots of something on one layout, presumably because of the expense or not wanting to waste them.  The thing is neither of these arguments hold up if they sit in a box and don't get used at all!  Ditto the above replacing puffy stickers with flair! Love me some layers!  Just small ones though so we don't cover up too much of the foiling! This layout started off with the blue background but I couldn't work it... With 5 photos too much of the foiling was covered however I shuffled the photos and laid them out. So I switched to a white background and was much happier with how it look...

Big Fun | Happy | Love This

I have a trio of layouts using Pretty My Page cut files today. This first one features a Paige Evans cut file which you can buy as a pre-cut i.e. you don't need your own machine to scrap like this.  PMP do the cutting, the weeding, all the hard work!  This file is called Ferris Wheel .  The layout is quite simply because when you have a large file it does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.  I've stuck to just white and blue for this layout... I added my colour with layers, stickers, inky splatters and alphas. In fact, all of these layouts pretty much stick to white and blue... This cut file is called  Diagonal Stars Pocket Filler and was designed as a Christmas file to be used in a 6x8 December daily album.  Well, you know I don't do what I'm meant to... I cut it on a gorgeous watercolour print patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla - not remotely Christmassy - at 9x12.  It works perfectly at this size.  I love to h...

Pretty My Page Acorn Mesh Cut File

This layout uses Pretty My Page's Acorn Mesh cut file.  I adore the cut file - you can download it here or have it cut for you here . I cut it on kraft as I was trying to do something different.  That was my first 'mistake' - I don't really like kraft! I painted through the cut file with Minc Reactive Mist and added different colour foils to the leaves and acorns.  Second mistake - it needs quite a thick layer of mist to get a good foiling (presumably the Minc paint would work better for this... must buy some!) Mistake 3 for me is it is a whole page design.  You know I like my white space! But I look it this layout and I can see there is nothing wrong with it, it is just not my style.  I can also see what I can do to make it more me so I hope to do another version soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbows and Matte Enamel Dots

Today's Pretty My Page project uses the leftovers from my first PMP project ...  I saved the rainbow negatives from my cutting mat and coloured them with some watercolour paints.  I arranged them in colour order and ran them through my sewing machine. I've added texture paste through the Rainbows stencil for subtle details on the background. I've added black shimmery splatters using Dylusions Shimmer Ink in Black Marble . And embellished with enamel dots - some regular and some with a matte finish.  I'll tell you now - you need these matte ones in your stash!  I've also used some foil leftovers from this project.  Never waste a thing if it's pretty! Here's the process video: Thanks for looking!

Dream Big

Every StickerKitten collection comes with kraft and black patterned papers.  My initial reaction to them was 'I wonder if you can foil them?'  Well, the first try didn't work BUT it was because I used the wrong kind of foil.  Who knew there were different kinds of heat activated foil?!  The results were not the perfect teal fish on a kraft background that I was hoping for.  Whilst the fish were perfect the foil stuck to most of the background, too, but it was too good to throw away. I pulled out a sheet of teal 12x12 glitter cardstock to use as my background, my wrongly foiled paper and a few more of the kraft papers from Mermaid Treasures .  I based my layout on the latest sketch in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group. I used an acrylic piece from Skull and Cross Buns for my title. The wooden pieces from StickerKitten were coloured up with Liquitex ink.  I added details to them with mica powder and chunky glitter. All Of The Hearts

I love this cut file from Pretty My Page.  I set it to cut a little smaller that 12x12 so I had a nice chunky border around the edge. I've just got a Minc and some reactive mist and I want to use it on everything!  I sprayed over the die cut with another sheet underneath... you'll see that background soon too.  I wasn't aiming for full coverage - just a light misting.  Once the mist was dry I ran it through the Minc with some holographic foil. I then backed some of the hearts with Bella Boulevard 'Alex' papers.  I left some of the hearts un-backed as I love the shadow they cast.  I added foam squares to the reverse and popped it on to another white 12x12. I kept it simple as there was a lot going on (for me!) and only added a bulldog clip to my photo and embellished with the matching Bella Boulevard sticker sheet. I've also kept the hearts that came from this cut file so I am going to get three elements from one cut file. Thanks for ...

Today & Always

I'm on a roll with scraplifting for this weeks Mind The Scrap challenge... First up is this clean and simple layout based on Claire Murphy's original. My supplies are from Pretty Little Studio - a mixture of collections, the stars are from Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here. The project life cards which are gold foiled (which means REALLY hard to photograph!) are all adhered at different heights.  It's those little details that I love! There are few more coming but will be spread out over the next couple of weeks... stay tuned!

WOYWW 260

Happy Anniversary WOYWWers !  As it is the fifth anniversary I made 5 ATC's.  One for the person above me, one for the person below, one for Queen Dunnit and two others - I'd be delighted to swap with the first two who ask! (All gone now) There they all are, packaged up and ready to be sent... And there are the eclectic selection!  Basically I played and had fun, trying not to think too much (not really much of a problem for me!)   I would include a picture of my desk today but it's covered in vases of flowers as it was my birthday yesterday :) As always I'll endevour to return all comments, but if I don't get to you I still appreciate the comments you leave - you make me smile!
