CSI | Case File 331

Here's my final layout for the CSI design team.  I've interpreted the case file a little differently this time.  I've 'read' the stack of books as layers and turned them in to cut files.  Three cuts on different colour cardstock each with progressively larger cut outs that when stacked in a certain way give this fab effect. I'm calling them stackable cut files - and I say 'them' as there will be more as I adore how they look!  I've stick with the colour palette of Case File 331, teal, a touch of a muted-lime-crossed-with-sage-green and black and white.  (Good to see my colour explaining is improving!!) I had plans to put more on the page but it really didn't need anything further, it already felt complete! Here's the process video:

CSI | Case 322

I currently have a giveaway running on my YouTube channel celebrating the milestone of 1000 subscribers.  Check it out here: https://youtu.be/Itt7SZ1FUVY Here is my DT layout for CSI case 322 .  I've been led by the colours (peach, orange and navy) and the paint smears on the case file. I colour matched some sequins and puffy stickers.  The stickers are from Pinkfresh Studio and have been sat in my stash for a while now so I'm pleased to get a few used up. The paint smear is created with texture paste mixed with brusho crystals.  I love the variation in colour that the brusho gives. I've added some fancy zig zag sewing to attach my trimmed down white cardstock to a peach backing sheet. You can watch the video here:

CSI | Case File 319

Here is my layout for CSI's Case File 319.  I've been insired by the colour scheme (although I did ignore the pink!), cute animals and the tiny dot pattern. My turquoise is slightly off but I had a surprising lack of bright turquoise in my stash.  My dots are also slightly too oranised.. the case file image was much more random and wonky dots. I used a cut file from Pretty My Page (if it's not yet linked it hasn't been released yet!) The cute animals in the case file immediately brought to mind my Simon Says Stamp panda die.  Any excuse to bring it out for a play.  I cut on both black and white cardstock and then piece them together.  I find adding a big dot of glossy accents on the eyes gives a nice raised shiny look that almost brings a life like quality to the face. Sequins because always sequins!  I selected some clears and greys leaving the colour to come from the patterned paper alone. Here's the process video:

CSI | Case File No. 316

I had a lot of fun creating this layout... I was guided by the colour scheme from the latest CSI case file - minus the pink pop. I felt the image was really playful and whimsical and I tried to convey that with some pleated vellum.  I know it will get a little flattened in the album but I'm OK with that. I added a sprinkling of small shapes around the page using a combination of stickers and rubber stamps.  I found an old clear sticker sheet from Cocoa Vanilla Studio which was perfect for adding a few faux paint effects and a sentiment. I also got three paper clips on the page - I seem to hoard paper clips insted of actually using them... I have so many fun shapes in my stash, it's high time they featured on some layouts! Thanks for stopping by!

CSI | Case File no. 313

I'm sharing my first CSI layout today... These are such cleverly thought out challenges.  There is an image to spark off your creativity.  I have used the colour scheme and included lace, polka dots, hearts, scallops and small patterns all of which are represented in the case file. I used the negatives from the Stained Glass cut file from Pretty My Page, well, half of them.  I used transfer tape to remove them from the cutting mat and add them to the top of the page.  I then coated everything with clear gesso and went to town with Brusho!  I gathered up some scraps and titbits of lace, felt, twine and paper.  I finished the remains of an old sheet of vellum stickers from Freckled Fawn to add some black pops. Next up are a couple of close ups of the mixed media because I love how it turned out... I used one shade of green for the majority of the colour.  The powder is made up of different pigments so it gives the look of ma...
