Christmas ATC's XIII

Finishing off my ATC share (over-share?!) with the beardy guy in red.  Today is his busiest day, I believe! He's paired with scraps, sequins and sewing - superb! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get a visit from the beardy guy in red tonight! Merry Christmas!

Christmas ATC's XII

Another assortment of pretties in ATC size...  I've come to the conclusion that I don't use crepe often enough... look at the ruffles - gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Christmas ATC's XI

Rubber stamping, a tiny cut file, sequins, ribbon... this is a sample of my favourite things in ATC form! The garland stamp is from Skull and Cross Buns, the rest of the supplies have been rescued from the Christmas crafts box. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

Christmas ATC's X

I love this ATC... can I say that about my own work?  It's the pine cones that do it for me. The background is an old scrap of ribbon. And the embellishment pine cones are a rubber stamp from Skull and Cross Buns.  Plenty of sequins, of course, because #sequinsmakeeverythingbetter Thanks for stopping by and Happy Christmas!

Christmas ATC's IX

Another ATC made with bits'n'bobs from my Christmas box.  I love that a red and white paperclip suddenly becomes a candy cane paperclip in Decemeber. And Santa's sleigh is rather cool, right? Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Christmas ATC's VIII

Vellum, crazy sewing, sequins, a cute charm... But for me the best bit of this ATC is the snow globe.  I like to use everything.  Everything.  This is cut from some packaging!    Thanks for stopping by!  (Still to early to say Merry Christmas?)

Christmas ATC's VII

Another collection of goodies layered up, clipped together and added to a ATC base. This ATC could be taken to pieces and re-used by the recipient.  I love the thought of another crafter using the same pieces in their future art work. Thanks for stopping by - is it too early to say Merry Christmas?

Christmas ATC's VI

This ATC was assembled from left overs and embellished with sequins...  I love the way the star sequins sit in the holes in the wooden tree. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's V

Channelling crazy sewing and stacking vintage Christmas goodies... A gorgeous crocheted star clipped on with a tree shaped clip.  This ATC could be disassembled and it's parts re-used by the recipient. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's IV

These ATC's were assembled with a 'let's use all the shiny things' attitude! Sequins, foiled doilys, glossy accents highlighting baubles on a wooden Christmas tree button...  More sequins and a foiled flair...  It says 'jingle all the way' but it was so shiny I had trouble photographing it!! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's III

This ATC was made with a use it up mentality (like the last one).  The bulb stickers have been in my stash for a few years and it was clear that I wasn't going to use them on a layout. I added texture with some sewing.  I am loving my machine at the moment and using coloured threads and 'fancy' stitches is my current thing. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's II

This ATC was made using up stickers and bits'n'bobs from my Christmas box.  They are very hard to see but there are mini white pom poms stuck on in between the stars and snowflakes. Given the use it up nature I went about creating with I am pleasantly surprised with how much I like the outcome.  To me the word stickers read a bit like a found poem. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's

Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing a batch of ATC's I made for a Christmas swap... They all had to be wrapped up... not going to lie - that was my favourite part! This is the only swap I've joined in this season.  I usually do a couple of stocking swaps too, but I probably made the right call given that the last two to three weeks have been spent coughing and sleeping. Thanks for stopping by!

Shaker ATC tutorial

Another post I found hiding in my drafts folder...  I'm ashamed to say this was written in January 2016 but I didn't hit the publish button! I was asked by the wonderful Jessica Brogan , leader of the Card Deck Swap , to put together a tutorial for the ATC's I sent in a previous swap.  Here is what I put together... To make these shaker ATC’s you will need some sort of background, a transparent material and some small ‘shaky’ pieces.    I have used a watercolour background cut down to ATC size, and a playing card.   You could use patterned paper, mixed media artwork, magazine pages, book pages, fabric... the list is endless.     I’ve used netting/tulle, vellum and a glassine bag for the shaker fronts.   You could also try scrapbook page protectors, thick plastic packaging and acetate.    I’ve used sequins, beads and punched shapes as my shaky bits – anything small and relatively thin will work... try buttons, woo...

Kindness and Confetti

Sequin confetti, of course!  Hi, I'm here today with a bunch of ATC's.  I am taking part in a swap you see... 52 cards themed 'Love, Kindness and Hope' and in return, I get 52 cards from all over the world made by different artists. I start with a master board - a big piece of watercolour paper that will eventually be cut down to size.  I made three sheets with different colours using mainly Shimmerz sprays in different finishes.  I added some stencilling with Dazzlerz paste for some texture. Next, I moved on to the fun bit - filling up 52 little glassine bags with sequin confetti.  I won't list all of the sequin mixes I used as there are far too many!  You can find them all here ! I printed out the phrase "throw kindness around like confetti" and trimmed them down to small slips of paper.  I have all my elements ready now so I set up my sewing machine.  I picked a background, a glassine bag of confetti and a sentiment sl...

ATC's

Hello!  I'm here today to share some recent ATC’s… They are part of a deck of cards for Jessica Brogan's swap .  ATC’s – or artists trading cards – are usually small pieces of art (64mm x 89mm) swapped between artists.  Rather than working on a small scale to begin with I work on a larger sheet to make my mixed media backgrounds.  For me this is just playing with watercolours or Shimmerz, acrylics, modelling pastes etc until something starts to form.  Then when I get an idea, I follow it! This batch of cards use quite a few SpiegelMom Scraps products.  In the background I have used some Shimmerz colourings and dazzlerz .  My feature embellishment on some of the cards are the gorgeous Birds of a Feather Felties is Aqua/Blues and Green/Rust.  And of course I cannot make anything without using sequins – I’ve used some from green machine and some from lucky charm . Thanks so much for stopping by today!
