Christmas ATC's VII

Another collection of goodies layered up, clipped together and added to a ATC base. This ATC could be taken to pieces and re-used by the recipient.  I love the thought of another crafter using the same pieces in their future art work. Thanks for stopping by - is it too early to say Merry Christmas?

Skull And Cross Buns week!

I didn't realise how many SACB creations I had waiting to be shared.  I guess that is the sign of a good DT package - I just can't stop making! This layout uses the Bauble Stamp with clear heat embossing.  After melting the powder the paper beneath is trapped.  Any wet media you put over the top will be resisted and the paper will remain white.  I've used some Shimmerz sprays this time. I've added a touch of red with sewing and enamel dots. This is my favourite little touch.  I'm not really a bow person in general but thread end bows do something to me. Stand by for another SACB share tomorrow...

NSD & UKSA

Happy NSD!  UK Scrap Addicts have a few freebie cut files today.  One is designed by me and called 'Ornate Fleur de Lis'.  You can pop over here to download it and find out how to join our challenge. I've made a monochrome layout with the cut file.  Most of the supplies are from March's like for ever kit, with added sequins. This was my first attempt at a wonky two sided border.  In hindsight I think I could have gone for even more of an angle. I love the detail of tying the loose sewing threads in to bows. I love this layout, probably because it uses 'that blue rose paper' from Maggie Holmes!  I really should have bought a couple more pieces!!

Feeling Moody!

In the mood for a mood board that is! Have you seen SpiegelMom Scraps January challenge over in 15 Minutes to Scrap ?  It has been set by the lovely Hannah Lemieux and it is to use this mood board as inspiration.  Hannah also asks us to pay particular attention to textures and use one of the textures displayed in the mood board. When I start scrapping based on a mood board the first thing I notice are the colours.  I adore these colours - rich teals, metallics and greys are what stand out to me most.  However, you could also run with duck egg, wood, and white with a pop of mustard. Next, I notice the finishes - wood grain, velvet, hammered metal and - my favourite - woollen pompoms.  Seeing as Hannah specified texture I thought I would attempt to make some mini pompoms for my layout.  After five attempts I came up with something usable and gathered some other supplies... I knew I wanted to make a segmented sequin shaker pocket from vellum....

so mush room...

It is challenge day over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges ! Sometimes you just have to be a little bit silly, right?  See exhibit A below! As you know I love to work with Ali from Crafty Ribbons designs.  But the mushroom design made me smile for no particular reason, it just made me feel a bit cheeky and silly!  So I made this silly card. And decorated an easel to display it on.  I added some grass , and a heart button too.  And painted with white and red to match the mushroom ribbon. I converted the digital image from the ribbon into a cut file for my Cameo, and cut out a few different sizes.  A few gold stickers and another bow to finish it off.  Bonkers, but hey, it'll make someone smile! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you on the challenge blog!
