Catching Autumn Dreams

Oh Autumn, I love your colours!  I pulled out an old like for ever kit containing Pink Paislee Cedar Lane for this layout.  I used some Studio Calico rub ons and two sequin mixes from SpiegelMom Scraps - Aquarius and Star Spangeld. I mounted my phtos on to a doily and dipped in to my evergrowing stash of Gutermann threads to add tassels.  It gives the impression of a dream catcher, sort of! Thanks for looking!

Home Grown

For my second guest designer layout for Lottie Loves Paper I took inspiration from Scrap Our Stash .  I went for the left hand coloumn of their tic-tac-toe board - red, camera and wood. The layout mainly uses Tealightful from Pebbles with a little Pink Paislee Oh My Heart.  I've also added in some rose gold SpiegelMom Scraps sequins to match the foiled chipboard from Paige Evans.  The layout documents my strawberry plant... it's not a good cropper!  I think we only keep it for amusement value!! I have a couple more layouts to come from this 'little' kit so stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by!

The Story

Hi there, I'm here today to share a layout for Crafty Ribbons today... I've incorporated two sizes and colours of ric rac, some of my beloved 3mm satin ribbon (I use it on most projects!) and also some lace. You can find the ric rac here .  I've used candy pink and cerise.  The satin is Jade and the pretty thin lace is Chloe . The rest of the supplies are from an old like for ever kit, apart from the doily which is from SpiegelMom Scraps. Thanks for stopping by! p.s. not sure if I have mentioned on my blog yet.  Herbie had an accident and injured his leg beyond repair.  It's terribly lonely and quiet without him.  He had such a big character for a little bird.

Is it a dodecahedron?!

I recently had something arrive in the most amazing packaging.  It was so amazing that I immediately took it out and cast it aside and studied the packaging!  I took it apart and made a template so I could make my own version out of pretty paper... I used the navy and teal butterfly paper from Pink Paislee Moonstruck (in the like for ever November kit) and a piece of mint lace from Crafty Ribbons.  Handily my littlest cousin has a birthday this week and a couple of bits fit neatly inside - a truly uniquely wrapped birthday present! I've fiddled around in Silhouette Studio and created a cut file to make more boxes... you can find it here if you are interested in making some. I'm entering at the Butterfly Challenge whose theme is Navy and not square.  It's not square... I'm not sure what it is... possibly a rhombicuboctahedron?  One of the shape names I remember from school is the dodecahedron - I just love the word! - and it is much easier to say than ...

Hello there! I have been playing along with the mood board at like for ever this month.  It's a lovely board but it includes two things I struggle with - pink and floral.  I know when using a mood board it is perfectly acceptable to ignore the bits you don't like and use the other more 'you' items on the board but I decided I need to use the florals! Actually, the hardest part was finding a photo to use with the blousy flowers.  Nephydude playing with trucks isn't going to cut it!  Once I had my photo it all flowed nicely... I've used like for ever's Stargazer kit plus some mixed media supplies.  The star stencil is a Julie Fei-Fan Balzer design from The Crafter's Workshop.  I used a palette knife to push some matte medium through and left it to dry thoroughly before started with the paints. For my blue I mixed some Daniel Smith watercolours, the pink and gold are Mr Huey's sprays.  Thanks for stopping by!

Today I'm sharing another NSD layout... This gorgeous cut file came from Juliana Michaels , and I adore it!  This is the first time I've cut vellum too and it won't be the last.  As well as this 'main piece' from the cut file you get all the butterflies too - I hope to use them soon but energy is sketchy at the moment! All the bits apart from the enamel heart, tissue paper and thread are from the like for ever May kit. Rather wish I had 10 of these Paige Evans buttons!  Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. Love the white on white!! Thanks for stopping by...

She Loves Daffodils

Comfort zones... wonderful things!  But this time the challenge was to go outside of your comfort zone.  I soon realised my 'non-comfort zone' was patterned paper.  I am so happy to create without any patterned paper, just using all the other pretties available, that I didn't realise it was a big deal.  I challenged myself to make a layout only using patterned papers... I kept my snuggly blanky though... white cardstock background! I also went with like for ever subscriber Heather Bee's challenge of scrapping a photo of yourself with lyrics from a song as the title. I picked a song by JC Chasez (my favourite one from N Sync!) and hand cut the letters in the Pink Paislee/Paige Evans collection. I tacked the letters lightly with a dot of glue and then ran them through my sewing machine to make sure none could escape!  I like that they are not thoroughly glued down as they leave little shadows and add a little texture. And do you know what?...

Tis the season...

I've been playing with my like for ever kit and preparing for Christmas at the same time - result!  I love wrapping presents at any time of year but I always go a bit crazy at December... here are some of the presents I have wrapped so far... The first one uses a few pieces of ephemera from the like for ever Wish List kit, a Pink Paislee paperclip, a Cocoa Vanilla bow and a peg covered with patterned paper. Again this one uses a peg covered with patterned paper, plus some Crafty Ribbons lace , Wish List goodies and a few bits dug out from my Christmas stash.  I'd like to enter this at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge For this one I've grouped some ephemera from Wish List, tied with some 3mm ribbon and stuck to the parcel with a Cocoa Vanilla bow.  I'm entering this at Avenue 613. For this I've used a strip of patterned paper around the present, a few lovely ribbons and a couple of ephemera pieces from Wish List . This one was just ...
