Name Settings

Hey there, it's challenge day at Crafty Ribbons!  The theme for this week, and all the way up until Christmas, is Christmas with Ribbon or Lace. I have a few name settings for the Christmas dinner table today. These first ones were cut on my Silhouette.  I made a text box as you would to cut any words but I used the knife tool to slice the base of the letters off.  I deleted the little pieces below the slice line and that way the letters stay intact.  I decorated them with holly ribbon and gold dot washi. This second pair use two ribbons, a few sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and some (scary) hand lettering.  I did use a pencil first and went over in pen.  I must confess the sequins were not in the original plan but I tried to erase the ink too soon and made a smudge.  No mistakes, just opportunities for embellishing!! Using  Holly , Stag , Happy Christmas - Red  all from Santa's Grotto by Crafty Ribbons. Thanks for stopping ...

Ahoy There! ready

Pirate ribbons!!  Oh yes!  My first thought was kids have themed parties, Pirates and Princesses, for example.  So I made some pirate themed party goodies. A table/name setting... using Pirate Crew and Red Skulls ribbon. A scroll invitation using Black Skulls And party bags Pirate Crew and Aye Aye (red) ribbons. Here they are together And perhaps my favourite, an eye patch made with elastic, felt and red Aye Aye ribbon. So much fun...  I can't wait to do things like this for my nephew! Thanks for stopping by!

Advent - Day 9

Welcome to day nine of the Crafty Ribbons Advent Celebrations!   Today I have made some markers for our Christmas cheese board!  They could just as easily be table settings too, and, of course, you could make them in different colours - but you know me and my neon!  :) I collected together some pegs, sequins, baubles, mirror paper, white card and my beloved 3mm satin ribbon. I was playing with my gelli plate so I printed the pegs and incorporated the sequins in to a print which in turn coloured the sequins - perfect!  I used a glue dot to add the sequin to the peg. I simply tied a bow through the bauble, clipped it to the peg and stood the peg upside down. A bit of double matting and layering and my cards were ready.  Now bring on the Wensleydale!!  :) Thanks for stopping by
