Throwback | Gingerbread Man Weath

Throwing it back to an unpublished draft from 2017 using Crafty Ribbons Gingerbread Man ribbon. I have to say this gold foiled ribbon is still one of my favourites!

Anyone for an Ice Cream cone?

A few years back Ali from Crafty Ribbons made some adorable ribbon cupcakes.  They planted a seed in my mind... what about a ribbon ice cream cone?  A few years have past, but the idea hung on and has now come to fruition... The cone is made by pinning Swiss dot ribbon in ' tan and white ' to a polystyrene cone. It always takes me a long time to decide what flavour to pick when I buy a cone, and true to form it took a long while to decide which ribbons to use!  I settled on Raspberry ripple and used a collection of pink ribbon in both grosgrain and organza Swiss dots. These were also pinned to polystyrene - I cut a ball in half to give me a scoop type shape.  As I pinned I twisted to give the look of ice cream from a Mr Whippy machine. I hope you like this creation...  I'm quite hungry now... off for an ice cream I think! Linking at Avenue 613 ,  Not Just Cards , Inspire Me Mondays,

Easter Wreath

I find Easter a hard occasion to craft for.  To me Easter is a religious time, not a commercialised chocolate and bunny festival.  I've tried hard to top my Easter Garden project but time and energy got in my way this year.  (Still I have a few ideas tucked away for next year!!)  I have managed an Easter wreath.  Yes, it is bunnies and most things that I don't like about commercialised Easter but as a cute decoration I do like it... maybe I should drop the Easter connection and just call it a decorative wreath?! I started off with a polystyrene blank, ribbons, flowers, butterflies and gems. As I wound the ribbon round the polystyrene I secure it with small pins.  I made a hanging loop and used a few pins to secure it to the covered wreath.  It is not at all heavy so it doesn't need glue or extra fastenings. I've used the rabbit animal silhouette ribbons in Baby Maize and Lime Juice and some sheer dot organza in Apple  - all of w...

Amazing what you can do with a bit of polstyrene and a tin of pins... This is a polystyrene cone covered in loops of ribbon.    So simple but I love it!  It's sitting on my little shelf and it makes me smile :) I cut lengths of ribbon about 5-6cm long and pinned in rows starting at the bottom. using dots , sheer , ric rac , check and Santa ribbons All done for Crafty Ribbons Inspirations - check out what the other girls have made here

WOYWW 196

Here is this weeks desky photo... I'll be spending today carving polystyrene.  Hopeful it'll be ready to show next Wednesday.   I've also attempted to photograph my star garland.  I had made these origami stars ages ago.  I've recently strung them all together on cotton and hung them under my picture shelf.  They look really happy...  I just need to clear the back of my  desk to show them off a bit better. Speaaking of which I found this on facebook this morning - so true! I'm off to link up at the lovely Julia's and have a quick hop around deskland :) Have a good day
