Bless you! Crafty Ribbons new owl ribbons are lovely - happy, colourful and cute.  I wanted to make something that I could use a long length of the ribbon to really show it off - I really didn't want to cut it up!!  So... ...here is a tissue box! I took a regular tissue box and measured it, then with a sheet of 12x12 paper I made a sleeve to fit over the box.  I attached mine underneath - if you do this with repositionable glue you can simply take the sleeve off and stick on to a new box when the tissues run out. I decorated the top with a strip of owl ribbon mounted on to some lilac paper.  Then, and I was really excited by this, I used rub ons to write bless you on to a flat button .  I didn't know rub ons worked on buttons, but they do and they are really effective!  I glued the button on with pin flair glue gel. This is on display on Crafty Ribbons exhibition stand.  It's been to Glasgow and Olympia and I think the NEC too :) ...

'happy'

I enjoyed making my little ' wish ' canvas so much I think I'm going to turn it in to a series.  Its always good to have an odd number for a series and there are seven colours in the rainbow so I'm going to plump for seven mini canvases.  Here is number two... This one is 40mm by 60mm - really rather diddy!!  I have used violet India ink, pearlescent medium, a stencil and a rubber stamp for the background.  I had a few offcuts of the same violet ink on some paper strips, so I cut and layered them, stapling them to each other.  I glued my paper stack on to the canvas and splattered the remaining India ink on top. I finished off by adding a 'happy' rub on.  I think all of my canvases will have a positive rub on added. I'm quite looking forward to my row of rainbow coloured mini canvases :) Sharing at the playground . Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Smiles

This weeks smile is a pile of polite sweeties!  Hello! Linking up with Annie's smiles :)

Colourful & Fine

Short on words and energy so here are just the basics... This layout is for Crafty Ribbons Challenge whose theme for the week is Ribbons and Bows. Come over and join in with us! I've used 3mm satin ribbon and turquoise buttons from Crafty Ribbons . This is the first layout I'm sharing made from my Counterfit Kit - (I used my forged paper!) I used the sketch from Stuck , rotated anti-clockwise. :)

Cars, Trucks, Lorries etc.

Today I have a pen pot to share with you... I need to try and find more boy-ish things to make now I have a nephew... it's probably just as well as I would have driven my brother and sister-in-law mad if it had been a girl.  I'd have been making dresses and hair accessories and frilly things... Boy craft I always find a little harder, but now Crafty Ribbons have released their new car ribbons it's all a little bit easier! This pen pot is made from a large cardboard tube cut down to size and given a few coats of gesso inside and out.  Then using red backed tape (you know the really sticky one) I stuck a couple of lengths of ribbon round. Seriously cute ribbon :) Thanks for stopping by!

The March Adventure Continues...

My patterned paper for my counterfeit kit was lacking but I had a plan.  We have gone from this... to this... I made my take of a few of the papers that were in the Cocoa Daisy kit . 'Mazing what you can do with a white posca pen  :)  I just used the ruler as a guide not to actually draw along - my lines are not straight! This one was made by drawing lines with the ruler in various white pens.  They are quite subtle lines and the photo doesn't really show them brilliantly.  Then for some bolder lines I dipped the edge of the ruler in gesso and 'stamped' it. I fell in love with the black cross paper.  I replicated it with a home made cross stamp.  Yep, that's my pencil.  I used my craft knife to cut away the rubber and it worked first time.  Lucky!  Then I used ink and a ruler (again.  I didn't think I used my ruler this much...) to stamp lines of crosses.  I didn't make a whole sheet as my wrist...
