Love (Let's Get Sketchy and SpiegelMom Scraps)

Hey there.  Here is my take on the last SpiegelMom Scraps and Let's Get Sketchy team up... I've used goodies from Pretty Little Studio's Oakley Avenue, a watercolour resist tile by Amy Tangerine, and cork , sequins and Shimmerz from SpiegelMom Scraps . I chopped my photo in half and stretched it either side of the circular tile. I could spend days colouring things like this in! I just adore this vellum - Ashley Horton did such a fab job with this collection. Here's the process video...

Totally Crackers!

Hi Chaps, I'm sharing a fun table cracker made for Crafty Ribbons today. I've taken a sheet of patterned paper and a template drafted in Silhouette Studio.  There are loads available online to copy or print out.  I added a scalloped border at either edge for a little extra something. I tied with Happy Christmas in red from the Santa's Grotto range. And added Robin trim to the ends.  They look so fun and with five of these character ribbons in the range each of the family could have a different one! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Remember This

Hello!  I'm here with the third instalment in SpiegelMom Scraps team up with Let's Get Sketchy. I used the 12x12 sketch to make an 8.5x11 layout.  I quite like to squish and condense sketches to give me white space, but this time squished the white space to make the layout a smaller size.  Another reason I love sketches... I pulled out an old like for ever kit.  I think this is from September 2015.  I need to remind myself to back to older kits - I really enjoy the new kits and before you know it the following kit has arrived and I seem to run out of time to go back to previous kits.  I love the diagonal sprinkling of embellishments! For my supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps I have used; felt heart diecuts , lilac twinkle , glass slippers , peachy sherbet and moonshine delight sequins .  Here's the process video if you'd like to watch it come together... Thanks for stopping by!

This month's StashBusters video hop focuses on rubber stamping in scrapbooking.  Not my forte I have to admit!!  I have plenty of stamps but I hardly ever pull them out to use. For this layout I pulled out a couple of roller stamps - different types but I think they are both called roller stamps.  One is like a wheel that you roll over the page, the other you turn the handle to reveal different sentiments. I pulled out some Shimmerz paints too and stamped and flicked until my heart was content! The rest of the supplies are from October and November's like for ever kit. I've also used all the elements from like for ever's Sunday challenge - a stamp, four patterned papers, a label, die cuts, and enamel shapes. Here's the video with links to the other girls videos in the description. Thanks for stopping by!

Bad, Good and Shininess!

I fell over last night.  A fall tends to start the bad thoughts...  I'm so I'll, it's been nearly 17 years, I can't even walk to the bathroom without falling, it's never going to get better...  I had to consciously stop those thoughts and focus on the good.  Luckily it was a great day for positive things - I was announced as a member of like for ever kit club's first design team.  And when the positive things are hard to find I need to make them, create them, pull them out from under wherever they are hiding. I was messaging my sister in law over the weekend.  She said she was sorry things were a bit shitty. I replied the shittiness will pass.  I must only have typed one t and auto correct changed it to shininess.  This is what I need to do.  I need to set my internal auto correct to switch from shittiness to shininess.  And with that thought, I'm off to make some art... Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my news!

Gift Bag

I'm up on the Crafty Ribbons Inspiration blog today getting those Christmas craft juices flowing! I took a plain white bag and gave it a good spritz with gold spray ink.  I concentrated more colour at the top of the bag and let it fade out towards the bottom.  You can pick up blank paper bags at most craft stores, or recycle ones you have been given.  I've taken two ribbons from the Santa's Grotto range and painted the backs with matte medium.  When this is dry it allows you to fussy cut the ribbon without fraying.  I matted the large motif on to some gold mirror card, and layered it up over a couple of pieces of lace. I then added two of the tag motifs to the base of the handle.  Perfect for giving a gift this Christmas, not terribly time consuming, and even something you can get the kids to join in with... go on, do some Christmas crafting!! Ingredients: Tag Ribbon Badge Ribbon 2mm silk ribbon Volcan Lace Clermont Lace

Leaf Love

Over at SpiegelMom Scraps we are linking up with Let's Get Sketchy for the entire month of November... This week's sketch is by our Sara and screamed at me to play with lots of squares on the diagonal - so that is what I did.  I've used various sequin mixes from SpiegelMom's - Falling Leaves , Autumn Joy , A Day In the Woods - along with some cork hearts . The rest of the supplies are from Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue from Pretty Little Studio. I'm hoping to get my photography back up to a higher standard soon, just as soon as my health levels out and the shakes fade back a bit!
