Hot Cross Buns

I ADORE this layout!  I think it is my most favourite of all time... You can watch it evolve from the original idea of stamping my own patterned paper here: I've used a combination of hand and machine sewing to create a stave and musical notes. The fussy cut hot cross buns are from a new stamp set from Skull and Cross Buns. I've kept the colour palette simple - just black, greys, white and mint.  I have used about 8 shades of grey though so there is a lot of interest to the sewing and stamping. And I snuck in some more stamping with this date label . Thanks for stopping by!

StickerKitten on HOCHANDA II

Today I'm sharing the batch of cards I made for StickerKitten's HOCHANDA shows...

LLP Cyber Crop

I 've loved joining in with the Lottie Loves Paper Cyber Crop over the last couple of days.  Here are a few more of my layouts. This one is for the tags and tabs challenge. Lots of messy paints and inks paired with black pen doodling. and a tonne of tags cut from Pink Fresh papers. This one is for the mixed media prompt.  The stars are from a Confessions Of A Paper Addict cut file.  Texture paste, ink, gesso and anything else that was in reach combined to make the background. With a hidden tag telling the story of the photo. And finally using up the scraps... These were mainly pieces cut for or trimmed off the previous layouts so a true scraps page.  Ermm... I'll admit I ran out of scraps at one point and had to engineer some more!! Thanks for the cyber crop, Sarah, and for having me as a guest designer to join in the fun!

SHORN

I'm guest designing for the fabulous Lottie Loves Paper today... They are holding a cyber crop in their facebook community and I am hosting one of the challenges.  Prizes are available so do check it out! I've used Pink Fresh Studio goodies all available in the LLP online shop. I'm a bit obsessed with adding sewing machine details at the moment.  I do love the texture it adds to a layout. Here is the sketch I designed which is the basis of the challenge. Here's the video:

StickerKitten on HOCHANDA

Sarah from StickerKitten is on HOCHANDA today with a whole bunch of beautful products.  Here are a few of the samples I made: A mini canvas and notebook with Bee Garden  and a treasure bag using Mermaid Treasures ...

Stash Busting

I'm guest designing for Stashbusting this month and have these two layouts to share... The theme to bust this month is sequins.  Hmm... I wonder why they chose me as guest designer?  Hahaha! Supplies for this layout are from my Quirky Custom Card kit along with sequins and Shimmerz from SpiegelMom's.  The second layout uses an entire pack of Doodlebug sequins that I have had in my stash for 5+ years.  It's not a difficult technique by any means, it just takes time to stick each sequin down individually. I've also pulled out my favourite sewing technique.  Sew and skip, let's call it that.  Sew the first stitch in the first colour (lime in this case) and then skip ahead for the next stitch.  I had five thread colours so skipped four holes before the next lime stitch.  Once you've finished the entire row you then go back with your second colour, then the third etc.  The paper layers I've used are snippe...

S is for Sequins!

Seeeeequins! You know I love 'em!  And this star stripe cut file from Pretty My Page was screaming to be made into a giant shaker... I used sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps - busted 8 part used packs - and still haven't made a dent in my stash!! I kept everything else simple - I felt it needed it! I adore how it has turned out!
